Jay Reid, PGA

Jay Reid is a 34 year PGA Member with over 15,000 private lessons given during his career. Jay started his teaching career with Dana Rader Golf School in Charlotte a National Top 25 Golf Magazine ranked School. Holding titles of Director of Junior Instruction, Senior Instructor and Lead Instructor. During those years he was recognized for developing 20 plus instructors, Nominated for Carolinas Section Teacher of the Year, Carolinas Section Junior Leader and Carolinas Section Player Development Award.

Jay left Dana Rader School and started his own golf school in 2010. Working in the Statesville, Hickory, Troutman and Huntesville area his school grew and once again he was recognized as a Golf Digest Best in State Instructor, A Future Champions National Top 50 Instructor and a National Honorable mention Top 50 US Kids instructor.

A 3D Certified instructor, Jay’s use of video and his ability to communicate a clear understanding of the swing correction have brought him students of all levels from beginner to USGA National qualifiers. This past year one student called him a Ball Flight Engineer.

Jay enjoys teaching all levels of players and bases his instruction on the level of the student. He has been a contributing writer to numerous magazines and has certifications with US Kids, TPI Fitness, and D-Plane golf. Jay played in section pro-ams and state events when he was younger recording numerous top 5 finishes and recording a career low round of 64.
